The sisters are an important part of our community and are encouraged to meet and find friendly spaces where they can get to know each other on common grounds and make new friendships. Despite the lack of a dedicated location, the IDC Sister’s Space team have been busy building a community by organising coffee mornings, bazaars, community projects and Islamic/Arabic classes with the aim to meet, integrate and learn together, and also to raise funds for the Isleworth Deen Centre.

Amongst some of the activities they promoted, the IDC Sister’s Space team organised a very successful Bake Off competition for the children of the community, children took part in decorating cakes and raising funds as well as winning prizes. The Winter bazaars and Summer souks have also been very successful, bringing the community together, promoting small local businesses, raising funds for the Isleworth Deen Centre and building networks. The homeless project was a big hit where the team helped raise funds for local homeless people to provide them with living essentials. This was a project which promoted integration and compassion towards the local community. Coffee mornings have allowed local sisters to learn about the Isleworth Deen Centre and become volunteers to help with events.

Once the Isleworth Deen Centre is fully operational, the IDC Sister’s Space team wish to expand their activities and carry out to face to face Islamic/Arabic classes for sisters, hold a book club, carry out creative writing courses, STEM clubs, sewing clubs, fitness clubs and much much more. In-Sha-Allah.

Homeless Project

The IDC Sister’s Space team organised a project to help the homeless people around the community. Funds were raised by the sisters and children and then living essentials were bought. The goods were distributed to the homeless people, trying to ease their life a little and promoting the good work that the Isleworth Deen Centre does.
